𝙸𝚗 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚎𝚗𝚍, 𝚠𝚎’𝚛𝚎 𝚊𝚕𝚕 𝚠𝚒𝚕𝚍𝚏𝚕𝚘𝚠𝚎𝚛𝚜, 𝚊𝚛𝚎𝚗’𝚝 𝚠𝚎?”
Growing in a field beyond our control. We sway to the way of the wind. Different and beautiful, we’re wild and free.
We wish on the stars, if in vain, we don’t care. For the stars are companions who have always been there.
We cry over the ones we’ve lost and smile when a new flower is born. We’re aware of the tricks of life, yet it makes us weep.
We’re all a little lost in our ways and awed at the world before us. Trying to find our way beyond the field where we grew.
We learn the weight of words, said and unsaid. Sometimes we wish we took that road and sometimes repent.
We celebrate when our dreams come true and flinch when a nightmare does the same.
We remain wildflowers throughtout our life. Albeit a little bruised, hurt and tainted, we never lose the light inside.
Sometimes we meet other wildflowers and pray that if any harm were to befall, it wouldn’t be upon them.
Looking for a place to breathe, looking for someone to love, looking for happiness.
Hoping we wouldn’t have to say goodbye again. We wait for the inevitable day we’ll be picked and pray it’ll be gentle.
We’re none the same.
In the end, we’re all wildflowers, aren’t we?
