Three things about me!

  1. I have glasses! I don’t wear them as much as I should, but I have ’em.
  2. I have a stack of blue books on my desk. I love blue and I love books. What can I say?
  3. I love the song “Bennie and The Jets”.

Questions:

Do you like to read? If so, what is your favourite book genre?

I love reading. (I tend to live by the quote: Reading is breathing in, writing is breathing out. They’re two sides of the same coin.)

I am open to all genres. (Having conquered the horror genre whilst in quarantine!). If I HAD to pick a favourite genre, I would pick Young Adult.

How much time do you put into your blog?

It depends, mate. Lately, I’ve not been spending a ton of time on my blog. I try to do my best. I have to juggle school, writing, reading, blog, housework, and well, life.

To me, having a blog is somewhere I can express myself and I try to not let it become a burden. I love my blog and over the months it has become one of my “safe” places. 🙂

What is your favourite hobby (besides blogging or reading)?

Some might expect me to say writing. But, writing is much more than a hobby to me. Reading and writing are as important to me as breathing.

My favourite hobby is designing, editing, and photography. I am pretty good at it, and I really love it.

How long have you been blogging?

Dear readers, it is story-time. I started blogging in 2016, stopped because of bullying, and started properly blogging about a year ago. By properly I mean I started writing what I wanted to write and was proud of it.

Now, I love blogging and wouldn’t give it up for anything!

If you could go back in time to one year ago, what advice would you give yourself?

Screw others. Do what is right for you. It’s better to think about your future rather than pleasing people who won’t be in your life after a few years.

Maggie

Book Beach Bunny

Kristin

D.Wallace Peach

Books Of Magic

8. Ask your nominees any 5 questions of your choice, specifying one weird/funny question.

Three Things About Me.

  • I have four journals. I keep things like little paper notes passed in class, things written on napkins, little trinkets from occasions or from a day that I spent with someone special or a good day…you get the idea.
  • I am somewhat of a workaholic and worrier. I get anxious about things a lot. It has gotten better, though. But, I have come to see that I can actually use this anxiety and worry to my advantage. I always get things done on time…way before time actually. In the past few months, I have been pretty positive and I hope to continue it!
  • I listen to songs. But, I am the kind of person who listens to the same batch of 30 songs for a good few years. I do listen to new songs but not more than 5 times. Those 30 or so songs are CONSTANT! (I’m not ashamed to add that my list also has Let It Go from the 2013 movie Frozen because (a) I feel in love with it 6 years ago and (b) that song is freaking awesome!).

My Answers

What makes you laugh hard?

So many things. As of now, I would go with the show Brooklyn Nine-Nine. It’s so funny! I can’t wait for the seventh season! Let me know in the comments if you’ll have heard of this show?

What is the one fruit you can’t survive without?

BANANAS!!!!! LOVE THEM SO MUCH!!

The biggest change in your life over the past year?

I sort of re-arranged my life in the past year. Last year was, there is no other word for it, crappy. A lot has changed since then, my classes, my house (we recently moved) and my general attitude towards things, the type of people I hang around with (I had some pretty bad “friends” all last year). So, a lot has changed and I think it would be difficult to put it in a paragraph because honestly, as simple as it seems, it’s not.

A book you’ve read more than once?

I always read a book at least twice if I really like it. I have read the Harry Potter books at least 15 times.

But…

I always reply to these questions with Harry Potter. this time, I’m going to give a different answer. I have read The Hunger Games books a good couple of times! I absolutely LOVE The Hunger Games!

If you could ride one wild animal, which would it be?

A lion! Ever since I read The Chronicles of Narnia, it has been my dream!

My Questions

  1. What is your favorite band?
  2. What is your favorite song?
  3. Would You Rather: Never be able to use a laptop ever again or never be able to use a phone ever again? (Sorry, I know it’s HARD!
  4. What is a melodramatic thing that you do?
  5. How healthy do you think your lifestyle is?

I Tag:

Ashleigh | By Hook or By Book | Sara | Jeyran Main | Justine Little Fears | Shalini | Ris | Maggie |

To the ones I’ve tagged, feel no pressure to do it soon, or at all! Just know that I absolutely think you are worthy of this award! ♥♥

Best Post

I think that my best post would be My Thoughts On Hermione Granger’s Behaviour in Philosopher’s Stone and Why She is the Main Hero.

Admittedly, it is one of my least viewed and liked posts. In my eyes, it is my best. Hermione is an extremely misunderstood character. People see her as a know-it-all and a stickler for rules and goody two shoes. But she is actually much more and inside, she is, after all, a girl who is scared of discovering the world. It is her attitude and skills that save Harry and Ron from the beginning. I put a lot of passion and work into this post and I would like it if you could pop over and give it a read!

Thank you for reading! Hope you have a great day!

Let me know your thoughts in the comments! I’d love to hear from you’ll!

sun badge.png

The Sunshine Blogger Award is per recognition award for bloggers that inspires positivity and joy.

Rules:

  • Thank the person who nominated you and provide a link back to their blog so others can find them.
  • Answer the 11 questions asked by the blogger who nominated you.
  • Nominate 11 other bloggers and ask them 11 new questions.
  • Notify the nominees about it by commenting on one of their blog posts.

Questions:

1) If you were to meet your self from an alternate universe, what would you do with them?

Do a switcheroo! Obviously! Have her live a day of my life and live one day of her life! I feel like that would be so interesting, especially if that universe is technologically advanced.

2) What’s more important for you, food or sleep?

Food!❤ How can I go to bed hungry!? And well, food is food!

3) Favorite breed of dog/cat?

Favorite breed of cat is Turkish Angora and favorite breed of dog is Welsh Corgi! ❤They’re sooo cute!

4) Five people, you cannot live without?

My sister, father, grandmother, and two of my really close friends. (If you’ll are wondering why I didn’t include my mother…that’s because she died when I was 2 years old…)

5) Do you think you would survive a zombie apocalypse?

It depends on so many factors! Like where I am, who I am with, what I have with me…?

I am a very good planner, so I think that I could think of a plan to escape and hide, and hopefully survive…

6) What is the best name you can think of for a baby?

I love proper English names! ♥ So, the best name I can think for a baby girl is Darcy or Rose. And for a baby boy, Harry or William. They are so cute names! I can’t pick!

7) Do you like your own name or would you want to change it? What would you change it to?

I like my own name as it’s pretty unique. Many people’s real name is Jessica or Jessie or Jesse and they use “Jess” as a short form! But my name is Jess! I’m pretty happy and content with my name.

8) Would you rather lose your feet or your hands?

Neither!!

9) If you were to meet me, what is the first thing you would say to me? (except for the “good mornings and afternoons and stuff” of course)

If I meet somebody, then the first thing I talk about is books! If they are not into reading, then I move the conversation to movies and shows or songs. I am also a very shy person and wait for others to make the first move. But after you get to me know me, I can annoy you to another dimension with my talking!!

10) Do you sleep on your back or on your stomach?

Generally, I fall asleep on my side, but while sleeping, I become a freaking gymnast!

11) Are there any habits you wish to get rid off? Or any habits you want to develop?

I wish to get rid of the habit of reading too late into the night! And I wish to develop the habit of exercising and going out more!

Whitney’s Questions:

1) How many books do you typically read at one time?

I read about 2 to3 books at a time. As of the day I am typing this, 3rd May 2019, I am reading Opal Deception by Eoin Colfer and Selection by Keira Cass.

2) What genre are you the most drawn to?

I am most drawn to YA. I just love it sooooo much!

3) What is your favorite summer activity?

Staying inside…haha! Just kidding! My favorite activity is cycling!

4) Do you shop for books mostly online or in physical bookstores?

I mostly shop for books online, ebooks. Although I do go to bookstores about once or twice a month. I love going to the bookstore! It’s like a maze of books!

5) What is your favorite bookish app?

Kindle app. I can easily read books on my phone and it’s very convenient.

Another app I use is a blue light filter app. The blue light in the mobile screen is what really damages your eyes. So, by downloading a blue light filter app, you can avoid specs! I discovered this way after I got my specs though!

6) Do you ever write in your books?

Okay, I do something weird. On the first page of my books, I write, “Property of a bookworm” I know it’s stupid but I love doing it!

7) What is your biggest pet peeve?

Little noises like table tapping, humming, pen clicking! Ugh! I hate these noises! Especially when I’m reading!

8) Speaking of pets, do you have any?

No. I don’t have any pets…yet…

I plan to get a cat in the near future.

9) Are you a morning person or a night owl?

Night owl. I am very moody and grumpy in the morning. I hate waking up!

10) How often do you read throughout the day?

Every two to three hours. Its like oxygen to me!

11) What is your favorite thing about blogging?

I can be myself.

I tag:

Sofii | Shalini | SimplyMe | Maia | Maggie | PerfectlyTolerable | Sophie | Shannah | Ich lese | Michelle | You!

My Questions:

1) How many hours a day do you spend reading?

2) Chocolate or Tea?

7) Do you have any pets?

8) What is your favorite music genre(s)?

9) At what time do you go to sleep and wake up?

The Liebster Award

Hello everyone! I hope you’re all having a great day! I was nominated by Siobhan for the Liebster Award! If you haven’t checked out her blog already, then please do because you’re missing out on a lot!

The Liebster Award

  2. Answer 11 questions that the blogger gives you.
  3. Give 11 random facts about yourself.
  4. Nominate 11 blogs and notify them of their nomination.
  5. Give these blogs 11 questions to answer.

1. What was your most recent DNF book?

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. Before you’ll kill me in the comments, let me clarify that I don’t hate the book! It’s just that the e-book I’m reading has a very small font and for some reason, I can’t increase it. So, I’m going to get a paperback of Pride and Prejudice soon and read it.

2. Which book got you hooked onto your favorite genre?

Harry Potter. Before Harry Potter, I used to read mainly adventure books and I wasn’t interested in books that introduced the reader with a whole new world.

3. Which well-loved author do you not like?

Meg Cabot. I don’t hate her. I just do not like books like Princess Diaries. I loved the movies though. (And it is very often I say that I like the movies more than the books!)

4. What book would you love to rewrite for whatever reason?

Allegiant. Tris dies. *Me: WHO KILLS OFF THE MAIN CHARACTER?!?!?*

5. If you could be one character, who would it be?

Annabeth Chase from the Percy Jackson books. She is smart, brave and just wow. And I would get to call Percy Seaweed Brain.

6. What’s your favorite dessert?

Blackcurrant Ice-cream. Love it.

7. Who was your first book boyfriend or girlfriend?

Um… If I have to say…Percy Jackson.

8. What’s your most recent obsession?

The songs from The Greatest Showman. They are so inspirational and have a good beat!

9. If you could be transported anywhere (fictional or real), where would you go?

Hogwarts is my home! *Daring anyone to say that it is fictional.*

10. What book or series would you love to reread for the first time?

Artemis Fowl. I am reading the second book as of now. And I would like to reread it in the near future.

11. What’s your most hated pet peeve?

Bugs. I cringe if I see a spider or fly or any insect in my house. My shout is so shrill that humans can’t hear it! Ugh.

  7. I live in India but I do not like typical Indian food.
  8. Famous Five by Enid Blyton was the series that got me into reading.
  9. I have a memory jar. Let me explain. I found an empty glass jar in my kitchen and inspiration struck me! I decided to decorate it with random symbols and washi tape. And every time something good or memorable happens, I write it in a paper and put it in the jar. It’s like Dumbledore’s Pensieve but for good memories only.
  10. I hate mint. It’s the most disgusting thing according to me.

Blogger Recognition Award (x2)!

Blogger Recognition Award (x2)!

Hello everyone! I hope you’re having an amazing day! I got nominated again for the Blogger Recognition Award by Nefelibata. If you haven’t checked out her blog, then please do, it’s amazing!

Rules:

  • Thank the blogger that nominated you and give a link to their site.
  • Do a post to show your award.
  • Give a summary of how your blog started.
  • Give two pieces of advice for any new bloggers.
  • Select at least 15 other bloggers for this award.
  • Let each nominee know you’ve nominated them and give a link to your post.

How my blog got started?

My answer is just the same as before.

I have loved books for the past few years. I must have read at least two thousand books in the past 4 years. When I read, my thoughts, my visions about the book come in my mind and sometimes I go into the book, I am a character in the book and I have a backstory and I am closely related to the plot. I love reading for the joy of it. Many people in my school may be good at academics, at sports, dance, music. But NOBODY reads books for the joy of reading, the way I do. Someone may read it will improve their vocabulary, some to boast that they read. When I started blogging, I didn’t know what to write. I thought that nobody would read what I write, people may mock me, I was very insecure. I started to write in a very insecure way. If you’ll read my earlier posts, you’ll see. I started my blog in 2016 November and I never got serious with it. In April 2018, I was not insecure anymore. I don’t know how it came about, but I became more free with what I write. I expressed my views on books and recently I have started reviewing the books I read. I met like-minded people on WordPress and I was so happy to have discovered a place where I wasn’t the only bookworm. I hope that when people read my posts, they’ll see that reading is also done just for the joy of reading.

Two pieces of advice for new bloggers.

  1. Believe in your work and what you write. Write what inspires you and you think you should do. Don’t be afraid like I was.
  2. Explore. New ways to make your blog stand out. How to design your posts. These little things make your post pop!

Positivity Blogger Award!

Positivity Blogger Award!

Hello everyone! I was nominated by Maggie @ Dreaming of Guatemala(If you haven’t checked out her blog, then please so its one of the most positive ones out there!)for The Positivity Blogger Award! Before getting into the actual award post, I’d like to make a very important announcement! I’m in Gryffindor now! So, I deleted my old Pottermore account and made a new one because, well, I don’t exactly know why! I just did! So, I did the Sorting ceremony and I was sorted into Gryffindor! I was earlier in Hufflepuff but now I’m in Gryffindor! (Am I a Divergent?!) Anyways, I think the sorting hat may have noticed something inside my head because, well let me just say this, I do have more courage and pluck in me than I did before. So hopefully I haven’t bored you to bits by my rattle about Hogwarts Houses! Let’s begin!

Rules:

  • Thank the blogger who nominated you.
  • Display the award photo and rules in your post.
  • Share the reason behind the award.
  • Answer the set of eight questions.
  • Nominate the bloggers whose blogs you love.

positivity blogger award.png

The Positivity Blogger Award was started by Maggie @ Dreaming of Guatemala to encourage and uplift other bloggers. Our journeys as online writers can be an arduous one, so remembering why we started, as well as going back to our roots as a blogger, is a beautiful way to stay inspired and motivated to keep on writing. Here’s to the world of bloggers!

Questions:

Why did you start your blog?

Are you still blogging for that same reason?

What is your favorite thing about your blog?

Is your blog your favorite blog? (Because it should be!)

What posts of yours are the happiest with?

What is your favorite kind of post to write?

What is something you could do to improve your blog?

Are you happy with your blog?

My answers:

Why did you start your blog?

I started blogging because I wanted to express my feelings about books and meet like-minded people. People who love books like me. I wanted to share book reviews and my views on random things. As I explored more and more, I found many other types of bloggers, such as cooking blogs and started including that kind of stuff in my blog. For example, my experience cooking/baking.

Are you still blogging for that same reason?

Yes, I am still blogging for the same reason and I always hope to.

What is your favorite thing about your blog?

The favorite thing about my blog is that I can be myself without anyone judging me. People have supported me during tough times and I am very grateful to them. My blog is like a safe place and that is my favorite thing about it.

Is your blog your favorite blog? (Because it should be!)

Yes, I suppose. I get to edit my own blog and I get to write my own opinions and see other people’s comments. So, I think that my blog is my favorite blog!

What posts of yours are the happiest with?

I am very happy with every one of my posts! But if I had to select it would be when I did blog posts to talk about books, because reading is my life! So, yeah, BOOKSSS!

What is your favorite kind of post to write?

It would be something related to books. ANYTHING about books!

What is something you could do to improve your blog?

I need to write my own stories on the blog. I have been working on it. I have started to write a hundred different stories but I never finish one of them! So, I have to be a bit more organized and a little less lazy! You guys have been very supportive when I mentioned in one of my posts that I wanted to put some of my own stories. I am sorry you’ll have to wait and I thank you so much for being patient!

Are you happy with your blog?

Yes yes yes! A million times YES!
